From the Deep mermaid block

Something from yesterday.

A mermaid done on some kind of tiny molding block I found at the hardware store. I thought the primed surface would be good for painting but, ugh, not so much. Thought I'd totally ruined this several times while working on it. But, in the end I was able to use color pencil to pull something I liked out of the mess.

The image on your screen is probably bigger than the actual block. It's only around two inches by four inches. Thought about posting a bigger version but the closer you zoom in on such a tiny work the rougher it looks.
